JUNE PLUM
Also known as Golden Apple, June Plum is a tropical fruit with a firm, green, or golden-yellow skin and a tart-to-sweet flavor depending on its ripeness. It has a crunchy texture when green and becomes softer and juicier as it ripens. The fruit encloses a large fibrous seed.
June plum is high in vitamin C and iron, supporting immune function and red blood cell production. It also contains fiber, which aids digestion, and antioxidants that help combat oxidative stress. It is enjoyed raw—especially when still green with a pinch of salt or chili, or cooked in savory dishes, jams, and juices. In some cultures, it is pickled or used in chutneys and sauces for a tangy kick.
