BONIATO

Boniato, also known as Cuban sweet potato or white sweet potato, is a starchy root vegetable popular throughout the Caribbean, Latin America, and parts of Asia. It features pale, reddish skin with dry, white flesh that is less sweet than the more common orange-fleshed varieties of sweet potato. Boniato has a fluffy, chestnut-like flavor and texture when cooked, making it a favorite in traditional dishes like fries, soups, stews, and roasted vegetable medleys.

Rich in complex carbohydrates, fiber, and vitamin C, Boniato is both a healthy and satisfying ingredient. Its subtle sweetness pairs well with spices and herbs, and its versatility allows it to be prepared in many ways, including boiling, baking, or frying.
